A sauna room is a dry heating room, originated as the traditional sauna, popular mainly in countries like Finland and the US. The traditional sauna makes the user achieves high level of perspiration over a certain number hours. When a traditional sauna has been properly heated, the room's walls are warm, the air temperature has achieved the preset temperature and the rocks are well heated. The heated room walls and the rocks emit far-infrared heat, combined with the heated air, to create an "enveloping heat”. The process for heating can be caused from different ways, such as; an electric heater that heats a compartment of stones, which then radiate the heat throughout the room, most often can heat the room. The steam sauna is different from the traditional one. The steam experience is achieved by the heating of a room that generates vapour or steam leaving the user and the room wet. The steam temperature can be controlled and is normally lower than the temperatures in the dry sauna.

Another important difference between sauna and steam room is its benefits. The steam acts perfectly into rendering the skin smooth and clean.
